national heritage month

Join the Embroiderers’ Guild of WA as we celebrate the Australian Heritage Festival on 27 April 2018 at the EGWA Guild House, 565 Canning Highway, Alfred Cove WA. This year’s theme is ‘My Culture, My Story’.

Local expert Gail Hawes will be presenting, having recently returned from a tour of rural China. A special Chinese banner embroidery will be on display, together with pieces from the Guild’s Textile Collection, as well as Gail’s personal collection of Chinese embroideries.

Tea tasting will be on offer, with special thanks to local business, Chapels of Whately Street in Maylands providing a fine range of teas from China.

Doors open at 9:00 AM, whilst tea tasting commences at 9:30 AM, followed by lecture at 10:15 AM, and morning tea 11:15 AM.

Entry fee of $10 is payable at the event. The entry fee covers tea tasting, lecture about Chinese embroideries, morning tea, and raffle ticket for your chance to win a prize!

For booking enquiries, phone 0409269526 or email gaynorashford@nullhotmail.com

Special thanks to the City of Melville and Chung Wah Association for the loan of the Chinese banner embroidery for the event.
