The Governor did us proud with his opening speech on Thursday, congratulating the Guild on the high standard of the Exhibition, and providing some background from his own research on the traditions of embroidery. He then went on, drawing attention to his family connections to Northam and their triptych entry. His ancestor, a carpenter, played a role in the building of early government buildings one of which was depicted in Northam’s piece.
Mr Beazley was preceded with an introductory few words from our own President, Prudence Ford. Congratulations to all of the Guild members contributing to the Exhibition, what a fabulous event!
