No 11 – Chinese Embroidery Wild Iris or Continuance

With a long and rich history, embroidery is a cultural heritage of  China and has the status of art its own right alongside painting and calligraphy. The  special techniques developed and used have resulted in unsurpassed embroidery artistry in the genre of ‘thread painting’, considered to be one of  the most complex form of hand embroidery, and have set Chinese embroidery  apart from other forms of embroidery.  This simple portrait of a wild iris is done in the style of Chinese Brush Painting. The aim of the workshop is to replicate the art style by correct use of colour and appropriate techniques from the repertoire of embroidery techniques used in Chinese Art embroidery.

Requirement List will be sent out after enrolment. Framing afternoon 4.00pm Tuesday 18th June 2019

Costs below are for a two day workshop.  For attendees doing continuance the price is $70 per day as they choose to do the number of days they need or want to continue with the project they are working on.

These rates apply unless class is under subscribed in which case costs may have to be negotiated.
