This design is typical of the Elizabethan period featuring a bird under a fruiting tree of grapes and lily surrounded by various insects, creatures and scrolls of gold stitched in Gumnut yarn silks.
You will learn to extend your knowledge of detached buttonhole, allowing you to achieve unique three dimensional effects without the use of wires.
The piece for this class can be framed or mounted on the lid of a box or put towards an embroidered Elizabethan casket which is to be done over a three year period. This piece has been designed to be used for one of the doors on the front of the casket.
Day 2 of the workshop will be held at the Guild Hall, 565 Canning Highway, Alfred Cove WA.
