Time 9:00 am - 4:30 am
The Exquisitely Gifted Exhibition is the Guild’s gift to the WA community in celebration of 50 years of embroidery. It showcases the very wide range of embroidery and lace techniques practised by our members – traditional and contemporary, worked by hand or machine.
Guild members were invited to submit works which are to be given to an individual or a community organisation that could benefit from a little beauty, generosity and thoughtfulness. Alternatively, members could produce a piece that displays their individual talent and interests.
The exhibition also features a display of treasured items from the Guild’s extensive Historic Textile Collection. The theme of the display is ‘From Labour to Leisure’. It charts the changing nature of embroidery from the early 1800s to the present. Shown: Breakfast Tea Set; Red Lace Collar; Beaded Purse and Whitework; and Collection Post Card.
Two taster workshops will be available each day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Bookings can be made at the Exhibition space. Why not join us for a hands-on embroidery experience?
