Tutor Jenny Adin-Christie from UK
July 17 - 18 2017
Place Curnow Knuckey Hall, Masonic Centre, 3a Moolanda Blvd, Kingsley
Time 9:30 am - 3:00 pm
The design is based on the architectural form of skeleton seed heads, and are worked in a subtle palette of beige, cream and sage, with touches of metallic. Worked on a base of Italian silk organza.
The translucent backdrop allows the viewer to look through the work to the space beyond, creating a strong strength of depth. It combines techniques of whitework, shadow work, raised embroidery and metal thread work. Some are worked from behind the organza, others on top, again enhancing the sense of depth.
Kit – £42.50 ($68) + postage
Jenny has requested payment for the kit (plus postage) be made in £’s. The conversion rate which is in brackets has been done at end of September 2016. As this will fluctuate it is proposed to revise this figure and publish it in the May/June ‘Embroiderer’ at the rate for that month. It should be similar. We will then ask members to pay for their kit on the first day of the workshop as usual, based on this figure.
