Place Our Lady of Fatima Church Hall, 10 Foss Street, Palmyra
Time 9:30 am - 3:30 pm
The sampler is a spot-style embroidery based on 4th, 5th and 6th Century Counted Embroidery from Iran, Iraq and Afghanistan. It is worked on 30-count natural even-weave linen and the motifs use a number of different counted thread techniques in both orthodox and unorthodox methods. The size of the completed embroidery is approximately 21cm x 21cm. Students need some experience of counted thread embroidery on linen for this workshop.
You will need to provide 40cm x 40cm, 30 count even-weave linen and Gumnut “bud” threads which will be included in the requirements list. (Five full skeins and five that can be shared.)
There is some preparation to be done before the workshop and details will be sent out in good time prior to the workshop. Please enrol early.
$140 (Members) $210 (Non-members)
