Tutor Jan Pilgrim
October 9 - 10 2018
Place Guild House, 565 Canning Highway, Alfred Cove
Time 9:30 am - 3:30 pm
The Wooly Butt, which evolved from one of Jan’s trips to the Kimberleys, is one of the largest blossoms of our eucalypts. As it is also one of Jan’s favourite colours, it became apparent that it would be just a matter of time before it became an embroidery project.
The leaves in this project are a good learning experience for creating embroidery in different stitches, contrasting bright orange against the greens to create pure magic.
The finished size for this project is approximately 19cm x 19cm.
Whilst this stumpwork is inspired by green material leaves, both leaves and stems can be hand embroidered or machine embroidered. Students can provide their own wood to display the finished project, which is approximately sized 30cm x 10 cm.
Woolly Butt – $70. Includes all instructions, silk fabric and backing fabric, threads, needles, core board.
Orchids – $85. Includes all instructions fabric and threads needed. Wood not included.
