The apple project is one of the tutorial exercises Margaret uses to introduce ‘Random Stitch Embroidery’ to students. This is usually introduced at the commencement of the ‘intermediate’ stage of the program.
Beginners will be provided with a print of the project with Layer 1 stitching printed on the silk which will help students adjust to the stitching structure and become familiar with the application of the technique.
Current students who are progressing through the foundation level will start with a blank silk, as this will develop the skills they have already attained.
THERE IS A 2 ½ TO 3 HOUR INTRODUCTION AND FRAMING SESSION ON FRIDAY 20TH AT 4PM. IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT ALL THOSE NEW TO CHINESE EMBROIDERY ATTEND THIS SESSION FOR WHICH MARGARET MAKES NO CHARGE.
Participants will be required to read up and familiarise themselves with some of the concepts and techniques in Margaret’s book 1 ‘THE ART OF CHINESE EMBROIDERY’ which is available in the Guild Library.
